Demeter is a black and gold cat with a white V on her chest. She has spiky fur and a spiky collar like Jemima and her coat is very much like Jemima's. She is one of the younger adults, but does not play with the kittens at all. There are many interesting theories on her in their section.

She can be seen in many songs; one of her largest solos would be in Macavity, sung with Bombalurina. She is a little bit of a skittish cat around Macavity, she is always the first to sense him and see through his disguises.. She defends the tribe from the fake Deuteronomy. Macavity grabs her and she is fought over between him and Munkustrap. After that Alonzo rescues her and she disappears for the remainder of the fight.

She is quite a popular cat, who also sometimes hangs out with the older females. She is very striking with a similar textured coat to Bombalurina. She is close with Munkustrap, neither of them participate in the courtship dance, and they embrace after the fight. She sings with Bombalurina most of the time. She is very normal with the rest of the Jellicle Tribe except for the Tugger, whom she appears to hate, although no-one quite knows. She also appears to be close to Alonzo (who saves her) and Plato (who dances with her).
