Name/s: Asparagus

Age: Middle-aged to senior. Some believe him to be younger.

Appearance: A tufty brown tom, one of the tallest of all the toms. Has accents of grey, white and browny red in his coat. His cheeks are pale and white, he has a very comical and expressive face. His armwarmers are light grey, as is his chest. His coat has thin straight lines of brown all over it. His wig is white, red, brown and black, and his eyebrows are thin and scraggly. He has light whiskers, but no freckles. He is a stray cat, collarless.

Personality: Asparagus is a quiet older tom, he is confident and cocky but doesn't say much. He is kindly and caring to Grizabella and all the kittens. He is sensible, and disapproves of flirting and the Rum Tum Tugger. He likes to sit and observe the other cats dancing, singing, and falling in love. He is probably a deep thinker. Asparagus is not Gus, he was a character created for the video to replace Gus in the dances and songs. Nonetheless, he has his own character and is probably the next generations' theatre cat. People say that he doesn't exist, because two cats cannot have the same "particular" name. Asparagus is however not his "particular" name, but his "everday" name. Just an unusual one.

Shining Moment: His "there's a man over there" sequence in Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats.

Relationships:
His mate is commonly considered to be Jellylorum, the cream-coloured Lillie Cat.
He probably has kittens- these are disputed, but from Jellylorum's actions they seem to be Etcetera, Victoria and Pouncival.
His best friend seems quite clearly to be Skimbleshanks. He alse socializes with Admetus and Jennyanydots.
Asparagus' parents are almost definitely deceased.
